Series: What Happens in Corinth Stays in Corinth
Text: 1 Corinthians 10:15-33
Lesson: Should I? Or Shouldn't I?
Paul once again here goes back to this debate over questionable items and the meat offered to idol debate.
This week we are going to move to some other passages that will give us a self evaluation of where each one of individually is concerning this, and how we should approach it personally.
Questions to ask:
1. Can I give God thanks? (v30)
2. Does it give glory to God? (v31)
3. Will it be offensive to another? (v32)
4. Can this activity get me in its power? (1 Cor. 6:12)
5. What would Jesus Do? (Col. 3:17)
6. Does it have an appearance of evil? (1 Thes. 5:22)
7. Does it slow my service to God? (Heb. 12:1)
8. Would I want to be doing this if Christ returned? (1 John 2:28)
9. Am I fully convinced it’s ok? (Rom. 14:5)
10. Can I do it unto the Lord? (Romans 14:6)
11. Will it stand the test at the judgment seat? (Rom 14:10)
12. Could It cause a brother to stumble? (Rom 14:13,15,21)
13. Am I doing this by faith? (Rom 14:23)
14. Who am I pleasing by doing this? (Rom. 15:1-4)
